Simon Pollard

I pay attention to what matters, make sense of complex things, and give them form through creative work, personal transformation, and organisational thinking.

Find Out More

Hi, I'm Simon

I have spent much of my life trying to understand how things work, and then giving shape to what I find.

That started early. I loved drawing as a child, then became fascinated by computers, electronics, models, and anything I could take apart to understand, either phsyically or conceptually.

That curiosity grew into engineering, and later into leadership roles in complex environments where clear thinking, sound judgement, and responsibility matter. Alongside it all, computer graphics remained a constant; another way of exploring, understanding, and making.

I deeply value clarity over noise, substance over performance, and quality over volume. I believe most things become easier to navigate when they are seen clearly, understood properly, and worked through with care. I'm drawn to quality and to things that are done or made well.

Throughout it all, nature has remained a steady reference point, for its beauty, calmness, and perspective.

How I Work

My work takes different forms, but the underlying pattern is much the same. I move through the world paying attention. Certain things catch my interest, and when they do I follow them. I look for why they matter, how they fit, and what they might become. Some remain as understanding. Some ask to be brought into form. The most useful of them are the ones I share. Then, as new experience or information appears, the picture continues to evolve.

01
Scan

I am always taking in the world around me, ideas, patterns, images, tensions, questions, and things that feel significant before I can fully explain why.

02
Feel the Pull

From time to time, something stands out. It catches my attention with a sense of curiosity, interest, or awe.

03
Explore the Fit

I explore why it matters. How does it fit with what I already know? What does it strengthen, challenge, explain, or connect to? This is the stage that either lets the interest go, leaves it on the board for later, or gives it more life.

04
Bring it to Form

Some things call to be explored further or brought into form. That might mean building an image, testing an idea, making a model, or turning an observation into something tangible and real.

05
Share

This is where the work becomes useful beyond me. Understanding has value, but shared understanding can help, connect, and resonate with other people. When something leaves my internal world and becomes available to others, it can do real work there too.

06
Improve and Refine

Nothing is ever truly finished. As new experience or information appears, the picture improves. I welcome that. Refinement is how understanding becomes richer, stronger, and better made over time.

What matters to me is work that turns attention into understanding, understanding into form, and form into something useful to other people.
